La cinta histórica The Favourite, del director griego Yorgos Lanthimos, encabeza la lista con 14 nominaciones en los Critics’ Choice Awards, los premios que entregan la Asociación de Críticos de Retransmisiones Cinematográficas (BFCA y la Asociación de Periodistas de Televisión (BTJA).
Detrás figuran Black Panther (Pantera Negra) con 12, mientras que Roma, la película del director mexicano Alfonso Cuarón, consiguió ocho postulaciones incluyendo mejor película, director y actriz, para Yalitza Aparicio.
The Favourite buscará los premios en las categorías de Mejor película, director, actriz y actriz en una comedia (Olivia Colman), así como dos menciones en la categoría de mejor actriz de reparto para Emma Stone y Rachel Weisz. En la categoría de Mejor actor aparece nominado Rami Malek, por Bohemian Rhapsody.
Entre las producciones de televisión hay tres series con cinco nominaciones: The Americans, The Assassination Of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story y Escape at Dannemora. Los premios serán entregados el 13 de enero de 2019.
