" Colombian handmade fashion 2003"

Considering the riches of the occupations and handmade craftsmanship
with which the country counts and the diversity of natural materials
used in the handmade production, Today Artesanías de Colombia
involving the Office of the First Lady of the Nation and Inexmoda,
will carry out the first Catwalk Colombian Handmade Fashion 2003 that
looks to unite the craft with the fashion as Colombian products of
export, and it makes part of a strategy that looks for the competitiveness
of the Colombian handmade sector through integrated processes in development
of products directed to the national and international market.
In the Catwalk Colombian Handmade Fashion, of Colombiamoda, the handmade
materials will be used by Olga Piedrahita, Lina Cantillo, Francesca
Miranda, Juan Pablo Martínez and María Luisa Ortiz, after
a process of sensibilization in La Guajira where the Wayuu communities
are, the communities of Ara, Santa Sofía and Puerto Nariño
in the Amazon, and the communities of Nariño. Each Designer's
Collection will consist of 10 pieces with accessories .
