The latest polls show a boost for democratic candidate Barack Obama after the first debate between him and his republican rival John McCain, which was held last Friday at the University of Mississippi.
After three weeks of a clear tie, the most recent Gallup polls show that Obama is leading McCain by eight points.
It is believed that not only the economic crisis in the United States has helped Obama but also his performance in the debate, but it's a long race and there are two more presidential debates scheduled this year.
Despite the polls, it seems that several church ministers in the United States are against him; it was revealed yesterday that 33 of them asked their parishioners to not vote for Obama.
