The National Police in collaboration with the CTI (Technical Investigation Center) of the Attorney General's Office captured 14 members, including 2 leaders, of the gang "niño Zea", a group dedicated to theft by 'fleteo', a term used to describe a thief who follows people who have just left banks and ATM's and holds them up.
The gang carried out most of their illegal activity in downtown Medellín and the surrounding areas of larger chain stores.
They are allegedly responsible for 1,700 robberies. The captures are the result of a 6-month investigation.
