According to the Minister of Defense, Juan Manuel Santos, the mechanisms to fight terrorism and drug trafficking between Colombia and Peru get stronger day by day, thanks to the support of both countries and the will of their security organizations. Both countries offer full cooperation to each other and constantly exchange information regarding drug and weapon trafficking activities as well as any other illegal activity, especially in the border between both countries at the Putumayo River. Santos recalled that after the visit of his Peruvian homologous the ties between both countries are improving.
